Day 3 Email:

Hey Everyone,

Panthers Thanksgiving Camp day three is tomorrow!! I can’t believe how quickly the past two days have gone. Tomorrow is our final day of Thanksgiving camp. Our main focuses will add on to what we did today. As coaches we are using drills that will transfer over to game situations. Our stations will continue to pick up the pace and add more skill work into the mix and challenge the kids tomorrow. There will still be no contact (checking or body checking) but we will continue to encourage players to use their bodies to shield the ball, pick up the ball and get to the goal.  All drills will be modified to each age group and skill levels of the group for the best results. Today we were able to finish up our giveaways and lunch very quickly, allowing us to start the small sided games much earlier. Tomorrow i’m shooting for a 20 minute break, and a full hour of games to cap off our camp

It has been an amazing camp so far with so many new players. The best thing to see is the progress our players have made with only two days of having a Lacrosse stick in their hand. Not only have most of the players grown with their sticks, but they have been able to make some friends along the way as well.  Our coaches love getting to know some of the players that will eventually fill their spots one day in Purple & White!! If you are interested in seeing & supporting the High School volunteer coaches/team compete next month, we have a scrimmage on December 8th vs. Pearland, and December 10th vs. Stratford. Both scrimmages are at home at Camp Sienna with a 7pm start. It is a great opportunity for the younger players to see how the game should be played, as well as see some of the coaches that taught them how to play Lacrosse at camp!

Rental Return – After Camp:
Tomorrow after camp we will be collecting the rental sticks and equipment that was loaned to you.  These sticks are the backbone of our program and allow us to bring new players in every year – so please return them.  I will be set up under the pavilion by the garage with some of our High school player coaches ready to collect gear. If you would like to purchase a stick, please email me separately and I can give you a referral to an appropriate stick for your child’s age and skill level. Thank you in advance for returning our gear!

Day 2 Email:

Hey everyone!

Panthers Thanksgiving Camp day two is tomorrow!! Our main focuses will add on to what we started today with our building blocks.  We will be adding some stations where players are competing against each other. There will be no contact (checking or body checking) but we will be encouraging players to use their bodies to box out (like basketball) shield on ground balls or dodge past a defender.  Again, all drills will be modified to each age group and skill levels of the group for the best performance and growth.  We will play small sided games for a bit longer tomorrow since it is day two. It was great to see some of our players grow and learn how to use a stick in a game setting!! Please remember to bring the uniform/jersey you received today, any gear or sticks that were borrowed and anything else you should need for tomorrow.

I had a High School player walk around and take some pictures during camp today. I’m working on getting those on the computer and onto my google photos. Once uploaded I will send a link to everyone to see. There are not too too many but plenty to see, as well as a great group photo.  I do ask that if you use the pictures – please repost our group picture on social media and share about camp!
